A clear way to a perfect smile
Invisible braces give you straight teeth and a beautiful smile without letting everyone in on the secret. They straighten your teeth gradually as you go about your daily life, and our dentists oversee your care from start to finish.
Types of invisible braces
No braces are 100% invisible, but three types are considered invisible because they are rarely noticed:
- Clear aligners
- Hidden (lingual) braces
- Clear ceramic braces
Clear aligners
Clear aligners fit snugly over your teeth and can be removed to eat and clean your teeth. Instead of adjustments, you change to a new set of aligners regularly, and each set moves your teeth closer to their final position. Because they come out so easily, they have very little impact on daily life. Invisalign is the best-known clear aligner system.
Hidden braces
Hidden braces are attached to the back of your teeth, so they cannot be seen when you smile. They are custom-made from images of your teeth and adjusted like regular braces. They are fixed until treatment is complete, and they can make eating and cleaning a little more difficult at first.
Clear ceramic braces
Clear ceramic braces work like traditional braces, with brackets and an arch wire, but the parts are clear or tooth-coloured, so they are much less noticeable. Because ceramic is not as strong as metal, treatment can take a little longer. Some patients choose metal braces for the back teeth and ceramic for the front teeth to keep costs down.
