Yonge & Front Dental is a Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) provider. We bill Sun Life directly for eligible services, so you only pay your co-payment and any costs the plan doesn’t cover. Here’s who qualifies, how to apply and what to expect at your visit.
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program that helps eligible Canadian residents without private dental insurance pay for dental care. Sun Life runs the plan for the Government of Canada.
Canadian residents with no access to private dental insurance and an adjusted family net income under $90,000. Children are added to a parent’s application.
Exams, X-rays, cleanings, fluoride and sealants; fillings, root canals and gum care; crowns, dentures and oral surgery; and some sedation. Orthodontic treatment is not currently covered.
Family income under $70,000: no co-payment. $70,000 to $79,999: you pay 40%. $80,000 to $89,999: you pay 60% of the CDCP fee.
We bill Sun Life directly, so you don’t pay the full cost up front. If our fee is higher than the CDCP rate, or you choose a service the plan doesn’t cover, we tell you the cost before treatment.
